In a simple informal ceremony on October 17, 2024, Axos Business Center turned over 16 brand-new Acer Aspire TC-1775 desktop computers and one brand-new Canon Pixma printer to Manila Science High School (MSHS) for use in the Mathematics Department computer laboratory. The donation from Axos was spearheaded by Rhex Santos of MSHS Batch 1997, currently its SVP and Head of Operations.
At the turnover ceremony, Axos was represented by its Country Head, Richard Venables, and its senior officers. Aside from MaScian Rhex Santos, also in attendance were Jean-Marc Bauquin, Head of Technology; Len Moreto, Head of Finance; and Crys Cardenas, Head of Human Resources. Client Success Lead Raffy Maceda, Data and Project Lead Reymond Castro, and IT Support Jumer Lopez participated in the ceremony as well. Highlighting the importance of the donation and in celebration of the first anniversary of Axos Business Center, the event was also graced by the presence of Ronald Pitters, President and Chief Admin Officer from the Axos Bank headquarters in San Diego, California.
Accepting on behalf of MSHS was Principal Mark Gil Tabor. He was accompanied by Assistant Principal Annie De Guzman, Head of the Science Department Rosabelle Cacapit, and Mathematics Department faculty members, namely, Frelie Faylogna, Maybelle Fausto, Reynaldo Rafols Jr., Diana Grace Aniban, and Romer Abella. All expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation which fills an urgent need.
MaSci Foundation President Allan Malig (MSHS Batch 1989) welcomed the perfect match arranged between Axos and the MSHS Mathematics Department. In fulfillment of certain business requirements, Axos chose to donate to an educational institution, while earlier this year, the MSHS Mathematics Department expressed its critical need for equipment in its computer lab. It is everyone’s hope this relationship will be sustained in the future and continue to be mutually beneficial.
